The Death of Anna Garcia

By Prestyn Book

Evidence Analyzed

Abstract

Conclusions and Reccomendations

Anna Garcia was a 20 year college student who was found dead in the Gentry Life Science building by her friend Taylor Diaz. In this investigation the goal was to determine, the cause, mehcanism, and manner of death in order to figure out what happened to Anna and bring closure to her family. Based on our findings we were able to conclude that the cause of death was a TBI. According to this information I suggest that the law enforcement closes the case.

The cause of death was determined to be a ventricular septal defect, the mechanism of death was myocardial infarction, and the manner of death was natural. During the internal examination of Anna's body, the heart displayed characteristics of a ventricular septal defect. Additionally, two blood clots were visible in her heart caused by the septal defect which led to the myocardial infarction. Anna's death was ruled as natural because of the issues found during her internal examination as well as the lack of physical evidence pointing to foul play. Due to the manner of death being ruled as natural and the physical evidence not showing any signs of another individual being involved, I suggest that the law enforcement close this case.

What does the evidence tell us?

The evidence from the scene indicates that Anna was working in the lab when something caused her to fall hitting her head on the table as she fell. The evidence also implies that Anna was with someone relatively close to the time of her death due to the foreign hair found on her body. The note found at the scene may have also suggested that foul play was involved but more investigation was needed to confirm or deny that possibility.
