Mount St Helens Volcano Eruption 1980

After-affects

Mount St Helens erupted on May 18th 1980 many people expected the eruption as people were trying to capture it on camera.

Some after-affects were: landslides, a debris avalanche and some flooding. mount St Helens also had eruptions in 1857, 1903 and 1921 (and another one in 1998)

It caused the biggest land slide ever!

Damage Caused

The eruption killed 57 people, more than 200 homes, 185 miles of road and 15 miles of railway. One brave student tried to capture the event on camera, but unfortunately died from the volcano eruption.

Due to the fact that it wasn't in a very populated area not many people died (it happened in Washington).

It cost around £771,360,000
