The Scientific name is Uintatherium

They have three sets of bony and knoby horns. One set was placed at the top of the skull. Another was placed at the tip of the skull (above the mouth). While the last was also placed at the top of the skull, but this set was angled and almost resembled a horn.
Another distinguishing feature was that the Uintatherium had two tusks.
The Uiuntatherium's skull was concaved.
1.8 m tall
The Uintatherium was very large and was one of the largest mammals. The Uintatherium stands 1.8 meters tall and 13 feet long.
13 ft long
The Uintatherium's fossil is beige colored. The fossil also pocesses some speckles of brown and black. The Uintatherium fossil can also be all black.

The Uintatheriums were alive around 55.8 million years ago
The Uintatherium was part of the Bone wars. The Bone wars was a well-publicised feud that was between two palaeontologists, Othniel Charles Marsh and Edward Drinker Cope. They would contatntly try to outdo eachother by new discoveries. They would often find the same ramains , but they named them different names and refused to acknoledge the other persons name.
The Uintatherium creature itself resembles a modern Hippo.

Other than the bony horns and tusks, the Uintatherium also had some other special features abouts its face
The Uintatherium has dagger like teeath like the sabbor tooth tigers, but infact, the Uintatherium is an herbivore. Also, the Uintatherium has a tiny brain compared to the size of its body, and due to the fact that they have a small brain, the Uintatherium were not very intelligent creatures. Some scientists wonder how they survived so long.
One thought to how the Uintatherium species stayed alive for so long was their enormous size of 1.8 meters tall and 13 feet wide, their large weight of 1-2 tons, and their thick hide. The thick side could almost act as armor. Their hide is thought to be brown and black in color but also have a purpleish and greenish tint. They're a four legged species, and the Uintatherium has hoofed feet like an elephant.
Since the Uintatherium is an herbivore it ate many kinds of leaves and other soft plants. They also ate grass, but since when they were first alive when there wasn't much grassland they mostly stuck to leaves and aquatic vegetation.
The Uintatherium didn't have many predators. The only predators they had were packs of dogs like the Synoplotherium species.
Since the Uintatherium ate aquatic vegetation we know that it hung out by the water, and their dense limbs might have helped them stay under water and have the ability to walk under water. The Uintatherium might stay by water, but the Uintatherium actually lives in forests.
The Uintatherium did become extinct 33.9 million years ago. The cause is still unknown.
Here are two habits that the Uintatherium had
The Uintatherium were pretty social creatures. They would group up with around a dozen others. They did this for social reasons and it was another form of protection
They were protective. Being in gruops is just one of the ways they used protection. Like some modern animals the Uintatherium protects its young. This is a survival tactict and helped them stay alive for so long. They first develope a close bond with their young and don't let them go on their own until around 2 and 1/2 to 5 years have passed old.
The Paleogene period took place 66 million years ago - 23.03 million years ago
The Uintatherium lived through out the entire Eocene epoch which is in the Paleogene period
During the Paleogene period the weather was mostly warm,. The water levels were also were very low when the Uintstherium first came to Earth, but soon the sea levels gradually started to rise. There was also very little ice that was on the Earth. There might not have been that much water on the Earth but there was a ton of rainfall, which helped the sea levels rise later.
During the Paleogene period grass emerged. This benefitted the Uintatherium species because they were herbivores, and once grass emerged the Uintatherium added grass to their diet. Also flowering plants came into life.
During the Paleogene period many mammals came and aound 5% are modern. One huge addition to the animal kingdom was the horse. Also later in the period rodents came. Next the elephants appeared, and at the end of the period, dogs and cats evolved, along with pigs.
One major geological feature that was added during the Paleogene period was that the Rocky mountains were formed.
