Newton's Laws of Motion

Lizzy Vance

Newton's Law of Inertia

  • An object in motion will stay in motion and in object at rest will stay at rest unless acted on by an unbalenced force.

Inertia - The tendency to resist a change in motion.

Newton's First Law

When the man didn't touch the shopping cart it had stayed in rest but when it was pushed but when he used force it was set in motion

Example

Newton's Second Law

  • The force of an object is equal to its mass times its acceleration

  • More mass = less acceleration

  • F=ma

Newton's Second Law

The shopping cart that is empty it will have a greater acceleration than the shopping cart that is full.

Example

Newton's Third Law

For every action there is a equal and opposite reaction.

Newton's Third Law

When the man pushes the shopping cart with a certain force the cart will exert the same amount of force on the man but because it has wheels it will move.
