What I knew before this is what people say makes someone a hero is if they save lives or help people but I think there is more to it than that.

This website will help me with my topic because it talks about how most people don't know what makes someone a hero. According to Greater Good “It could be that heroes have more compassion or empathy; maybe there’s a hero gene” (Zimbardo). This helps with my question because it tells me that people that become heroic can have certain genes or more empathy or compassion. Most people don't know what makes someone a hero so I want to try my best to find out at least what a hero really means.

This website will help me with my project because it talks about the characteristics and types of heroes. According to Very Well Mind "Researchers do not necessarily agree about the central characteristics that make up heroism One study published in 2015 in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology suggested that heroes have 12 central traits, which are:Bravery, Conviction, Courage, Determination, Helpful, Honesty, Inspirational, Moral, integrity, Protective, Self-sacrifice, and Selflessness”(Cherry). This will help with my question because it talks about how heroism has certain characteristics that are different from other people. The heroes characteristics and types of heroes do matter a lot about how they can be heroes.

This website will helps me with my project because it talks about how most people think are heroes are superheros. According to Walb 10 News, Sarah Perry says, "A hero is a person who saves the day. He's the one who has all the courage and he has responsibility"(Miller). This will help my question because not all heroes can fly or wear capes so not every hero is like the super heroes you see in movies. The way people see heroes matter because some people can have different heroes.

What actually makes someone a hero is helping people or saving someone. Most heroes are first responders but people that help other people can be considered heroes to.
