The Four Types of Communication

By Gabe Clutter

One-to-One communication

One-to-One commmnuicaiton is: communicating or speaking with only one other person.

I use One-to-One communication to talk with my friends, siblings, or parents.

One to One Communication

Group Discussion

Group Communication

Group Discussion is:

Interpersonal communication involving three or more people with a common purpose, the meeting of three of more people to solve a common problem, arrive at a decision, or answer a question of mutual interest.

I use group communication when I do group projects for school. We are all talking and working together as a group.

Public Communicaiton

Public Communicatoin

Public communication is:

interpersonal communication in which one or more people communicates with an audience.

I use public communication when presenting a project in front of the class.

Mass Communication

Mass communication is:

One or several senders using printed or electronic media to communicate with a large number of people who are not necessarily gathered in one place.

I use mass communication if I receive information through media or see something on the news. I also see this type of communication when I get advertisments in the mail.
