A Not-So-Brief History

The story of ice cream has traveled the world and dates back to ancient times. Interestingly, for most of its history, ice cream was a delicacy enjoyed exclusively by royalty.

European settlers bring the recipe for ice cream to America.

The People of the Persian Empire are believed to have invented the frozen dessert first; they would pour juice or syrup on snow to eat during hot summers.

Marco Polo returns from his travels in the east and brings a recipe for ice cream as we know it today back to Italy.

Ice cream innovation and production take off.

Italian duchess, Catherine de' Medici, introduces ice cream to France.
