Hi! For this task we had to take our chosen animal (mine is a zebra), then create a diorama out of materials and make it's habitat. After that you had to get the clay that my Teacher supplied and make your animal. But right now we are going through a world wide pandemic and are in lock down. (which means we have to stay home) So instead I made play-dough with the things we have in our house. Let me show you how it turned out!
As I just said before, I had to make play-dough, so here is a video of me showing you how to make it:
With the play-dough I had just made, I then molded the body parts of the zebra and left them to dry. Here is a photo:
After the play dough had dried up enough, I painted each part and then hot glued it together. Here is how it turned out:
For my habitat I used an old ice cream container and different types of materials that I could find around the house. Here are some photos of it half way done:
Here are a few photos of the habitat finished with and without the zebra:
What I did well:
I think that the one thing that I did well was the habitat. It was done in a very good amount of time and still looked good.
What didn't go so well:
Personally the one thing that didn't go as planed was the play-dough. I didn't think that I was going to have to do this task at home. Also play-dough and hot glue does NOT work very well together. (something to remember)
What I changed:
I actually think that I changed almost EVERYTHING because 1. I was meant to use clay not play-dough, 2. I was meant to do this activity at School and not at home which meant I had to use materials and home and not the ones at School, and 3. I changed the device I took the photos on!
What I could have done better next time:
Maybe spent a bit more time on this task at School so I didn't have to do so much at
home. (but it's ok)
The End!
