The Solar Roadways contain heating elements to prevent snow and ice accumulation. SR panels are made of specifically formulated tempered glass which can withstand the weight of a semi-trucks.

It will cost a lot of money to put the solar roadways into the road It won't be very good with areas were it is not that sunny. It also might get damaged with heavy traffic.
