Digestive System

Digestive System

  • The Digestive System starts off with a splashy ride called the Mouth. This is where everything is broken up and salivated in preperation for the ride down the esophagus.
  • The Esophagus is a long slide that drops you right into the big pool of acid called the stomach. The stomach starts the process that breaks down liquids and nutrients. For some people this acid can make its way up the esophagus and cause discomfort and burning sensations in the chest area. This is called GERD.
  • Once the food leaves the stomach it goes through the windy small intestines that recieve digestive juices from the liver an pancreas to further breat down and absorb the nutrients.
  • Once everything is absorbed the remaining substances get dropped into the toilet bowl and never seen again.

Digestive 2

Continued

  • Unfortunately, people might pick up a bacterial infection usually somewhere in the intestines which can cause Irritable Bowel Syndrome, which can be recognized as abdominal pain and changes in the consistency of bowel movement.
  • If someone is unable to move their bowels at all this may be because of dry hardened stool which would be called Constipation

Excretory System

  • After leaving the splash-tastical Stomach Ride, prepare for the stupendous drop of the Epitome of Exretion. This newly renovated ride provides an exciting 100 ft freight filled drop into a pool.
  • Although it may seem tempting, do not overfill this ride due to excitment. Everybody will be able to ride this one in a life time experience!
  • The major organs of this system include the
  • kidneys - remove waste from the blood and produce urine
  • bladder - stores urine untl it is ready to be excreted
  • ureter - carry urine from kidneys to bladder
  • urethra - transports urine outside of the body (urination)
  • After consuming food and nutrents, the body consequently produces many toxins and waste. The body sorts out harmful substances from helpful substances. As well as sorting, the excretory system removes the harmful substances from the body through urine or stool. Sweat can also be used as a way to excrete waste.
  • Diseases include:
  • Kidney Stones - hard mineral deposits preventing urine from leaving the kidneys to the ureter
  • Prevention includes proper hydration and a decrease in sodium levels
  • Diabetes Insipidus - an endocrine disorder in which insulin is not produced or not enough for glucose to enter the cells
  • Prevention includes a healthier diet or lifestyle (if Diabetes Type 2)
  • Urinary Tract Infection - common infection that happens when bacter enters and spreads throughout the urinary tract.
  • Prevention includes proper hydration and urinating at a proper rate.

Skeletal System

Skeletal System

Beware the Spooky Skeletal System! This roller coaster rides throughout the whole park!

The Skeletal system is the foundation of the entire human body. This system allows our bodies to have shape and gives muscles something to attach to.

The skeletal system consists of bones, cartilage, ligaments, and tendons. All of these come together to allow movement and function of the body.

Bones also aid in the productin of red blood cells which takes place in bone marrow. Bone marrow is a spongy material that contains about 95% of the bodies RBCs. The bone marrow hot spots are in the sternum, pelvis, and spine.

Muscular System

Musculatory System

  • Twisters Ride of the Musculatory system awaits!
  • The first ride in this triple threat is the Spiraly Skeletal Muscle. This ride showcases an impressive amount of slides (striations) in one (and is voluntarily controled). Don't worry about drowning because we have muliple overseeers and lifeguards (multinucleate).
  • The second ride is the Slippery Smooth Muscle. This ride showcases hollow tubes that containn striations. This ride has 1 lifeguard (uninucleate)
  • Last but certainly not least is the Crazily Captivating Cardiac Muscle. This ride showcases multiple slides (striations) with one life guard per slide. Be careful for the Intercalcated Discs found within, and have fun dodging them while sliding.
  • The muscular system's function is to create voluntary and involuntary movement (such as movement involved in digestion and pumping blood), maintaining posture, stabilizing joints, and heat production.
  • Some major muscles of this system include the sternocleidomastoid muscles, the quadricep muscles, the hamstring muscles, the biceps, and the triceps.
  • Exercise and a healthy lifestyle are good ways to keep a healthy muscular system.
  • Some common issues include:
  • Muscle Dystrophy - a group of inherited myopathies causing muscle loss and weakness
  • Rhabdomyolysis - a breakdown of muscle tissue causing damage to the kidneys
  • Myasthenia Gravis - the immune system mistakingly attacks the neuromuscular receptors, causing muscle weakness.

Respiratory System

Resiratory Ride

The Respiratory Ride consists of one of our most famous slides, the tracheal slide. In the tracheal slide, you will travel down to the lung pool. In the lung pool oxygen will be brought in and carbon dioxide will be expelled out. This exchange takes place in the Alveoli, which air very small floaties that are in the lung pool. Another two organs that help with respiration are the ribs and diaphragm. When you inhale, the diaphragm contracts and pulls downward, at the same time, the muscles between the ribs contract and pull upward.

Be careful not to go down the tracheal slide until the next person is out of the lungs, if you don't wait you might get some fluid build up in the lungs called Pulmonary edema, you might also get a collapsed lung which happens when air escpes, so please make sure you follow the arrows and go the correct way. Finally, please take your floats after you are out of te lung, if you dont COPD might occur- which happens when airflow will be obstucted from the lungs.

Endocrine System

Endocrine System

  • The Endocrine System Mood Swing Ride is a fun back and forth ride that repersents the:
  • Hypothalamus, pineal gland, thyroid gland, parathroid glands, thymus, adrenal glands, and pancreas
  • Vasopressin helps control the body water and electrolyte levels
  • Adrenaline regulating visceral functions
  • Estrogen helps with female reproductive development
  • Some common issues are:
  • diabetes effects how the body turns food into energy.
  • acromegly parts of the body grow larger then usual
  • cushing syndrome the body makes too much of the hormone cortisol over a long period of time.

Max Pump roller coaster

The Max Pump roller coaster is one of our most exciting attractions. Max pump starts in the heart which is the most importatnt organ, in the heart- the SA node, which causes the atrial muscle to contract, travels to the AV node through the bundle of HIS, then to the purkinje fibers, which causes the ventricles to contract. The main function is to deliver oxygen and nutrients to cells. Other important parts are the blood vessels, arteries veins and capillaries.

If you dont wait until the next kart gets back, a heart attack can occr which is when there is a blood clot. This ride is closed when theres bad weather because arrythmia might occur, which is when there are irregular heart beats, either too slow or too fast. Finally, this ride can only hold 12 riders per kart, if the number exceeds, valve diseases can happen, which will be ightening in your heart valves.

Immune System

Immune System

  • The immune system is the protector of the park. This ride allows us to fend off any foreign bodys that are trying to come in.
  • There are many complex parts that are required to make this attraction including: white blood cells, antibodies, complement system, lymphatic system, spleen, bone marrow, thymus, and even more.
  • Sometimes this ride gets a little shaky and some problems can come up causing the ride to momentarily shutdown. Asthma is an immunal response in the body that causes mucos build and bronchoconstrction. This may make some riders tight chested or short of breath. If you are ever experiencing abdominal pain, dihrrea, fatigue, fever, you may have Crohns diseas which is another immunal diseasethat can occur within the body that consists of inflammation from the large intestine all the way to the anus.
  • The body May also not produce enough sometimes like Addisons disease where the adrenal glands don't release enough hormones.

Reproductive System

Reproductive system

The reproductive ride is the worlds biggest water slide race where you race the person next to you to see you will get to the pool faster.

In women the reproductive system includes the ovaries, the fallopian tubes, the uterus, the cervix, and the vagina. In the mens reproductive it includes prostate, testes and the penis.

The overall purpose of this system is to produce egg and sperm cells, produce hormones, and nurture the developing offspring.

Nervous System

Nervous System

  • Finally, at the end of your time at the amusment park, visit Duke the Dragon's Backwards Bumber Carts! Jump into a Neuron Cart and traverse the long narrow Spinal Cord Tunnel and try to evade other bumper carts in the large Brain Rink. Once you've had enough fun escape using the Peripheral Nerve Tracts that will safely return you to the front gate of the park.
  • The Nervous System's function is to transmit signals between the brain and the rest of the body, basically how your body is able to feel, move, and perceive. The part of the Central Nervous System include the brain and spinal cord.
  • The Peripheral Nervous System are all of the nerves that connect the body to the Central Nervous System for processing.
  • Some Nervous System diseases include:
  • Alzheimer's Disease - a neurodegenerative disease that affect memory and body functions
  • Epilepsy - a disorder in which nerve cell activity in the brain is disturbed, causing seizures
  • Stroke - a sudden death of brain cells due to lack of oxygen, caused by a blood clot or a rupture of an artery.
  • To keep the brain healthy, engage in a healhty lifestyle, get enough sleep, avoid harmful habits such as drinking or smoking, and wear helmets / take safety measures when doing possibly dangerous activities.
