The Sun

The sun is the starting point for all ecosystems and is a main abiotic feature

Algae

Algae is a producer that creates energy from photosynthesis and is eaten by small organisms such as sea turtles and clams.

Kelp

Kelp is a producer that also uses photosynthesis to create its own energy. Dense collections of kelp are called kelp forests and is its own habitat for many organisms. Sea Turtles and Manatees are examples of marine life that consume kelp.

Sea grass

Sea Grass

Sea Grass is another type of producer that can also be home to different types of aquatic life. This plant can serve as food for manatees and sea turtles.

Phytoplankton

Phytoplankton

Phytoplankton is another type of producer that is microscopic and can only be seen with special equipment. This organism supplies food for many species of animals such as clams and jellyfish

Clams

Clams are omnivores that eat Phytoplankton and Algae. They are eaten by organisms such as starfish and crabs.

Sea Turtles

Sea turtles are also omnivores that eat crabs, clams, sea grass, algae and kelp

Manatees

Manatees are herbivores that eat sea grass and kelp. Manatees are eaten by sharks.

Jellyfish

Surprisingly jellyfish are carnivores and eat fish

Star fish

Star fish are surprisingly carnivores and they feed om clams and is food for Manta Rays.

Crabs

Crabs are carnivores and mostly eat clams and are they main food source for sea turtles.

Striped Bass

Striped bass are carnivorous and eat small fish and are eaten by dolphins.

Red Snapper

Red snappers are carnivorous and eat small fish and crabs and provide food for dolphins and sharks.

Sharks

Sharks are at the top predator in this food chain and eat manta rays, dolphins, whales, manatees and any fish smaller than itself. It's only threat are other sharks and are decomposed by sea slugs when they die.

Manta Rays

Manta rays are carnivores and eat starfish but are eaten by sharks.

Dolphins

Dolphins are carnivores and eat red snappers, striped bass and any other fish smaller than itself. Dolphins have only one natural threat which are sharks.

Whales

Whales are the largest species of animal in the ocean and eat phytoplankton and sometimes crab.

Sea Slugs

Sea slugs are decomposers and eat all dead and decayed organisms and are eaten by crabs.
