It was known as the basis of Traditional Medicine. There were even some ancient cultures that wrote about plants and there medical uses in books called herbals. Some little extra information is there are about 350,000 species of existing plants including seed plants, bryophytes, and ferns.
Herbal medicine has been practices for thousands of years. They can easily be used every day without even realizing it. These practices include using oils, capsules that include the herb, bath salts, skin creams and teas.
Some physical benefits for Herbal Medicine is self healing which allows many individuals to listen to what their body is saying and to target the source of pain or discomfort. Another physical health is empowerment which is a natural healer will educate themselves about the body needs and how to keep it healthy. Herbal medicine helps reduce side effects that would usually be in prescription medicines because it is natural.
Herbal medicine aids emotional health by alleviating pain and stress. This improves your emotional well being and allows you to feel happy and less irritated.
Herbal medicine can help people self-medicate themselves to moderate illnesses. This way they can treat themselves and get better without having to go to a medical professional. They would be allowed to still go out without having to worry about still being sick.
Herbal Medicine can benefit the mind in a multitude of ways.
Here are some common herbs that benefit the mind; chamomile (improves sleep), peppermint (reduces fatigue), and lavender (relieves stress). Herbs can calm the mind and allow it to relax. They can be specialized to your specific needs and can often be found at your local grocery store.
Herbal medicine can help spiritually because it can help you relax and alleviate anything that you might want to get rid of. Similar to emotionally, it can help relieve any stress or tension that isn't needed.
A patient suffering from a number of medical issues attempted to resolve them with conventional medicines like antidepressants. The doctor's goal was to combat her PTSD, insomnia, and depression. Instead of benefiting her , the antidepressants worsened her state of health and led to unwanted side effects like severe headaches and increased anxiety. Adrian Duarte: I personally believe that herbal medicine is a great alternative to the medicine we use today. Not only have they been used since ancient times but they have also been proven by countless medical studies. I have also personally experienced their benefits and can see why it is readily used throughout the world. Researching this topic allowed me to see the amazing benefits and utility herbs can have on our lives.
Melanie Castrejon: I do personally believe that herbs can be beneficial to one's health. People all around the world have used them for years and have been proven to work. Lots of people use herbal medicine without even realizing it by drinking teas or using oils. Whenever someone in my family got sick, one of the first things they would do is drink tea because it can be soothing and helpful.
Naomi Chavez: I do believe that herbal medicine does help. Because as a child I grew up with my grandparents and my mom giving me and my family tea when I was sick or stressed. It would make me feel relaxed and just more lively. I would personally recommend people to use herbal medicine for anything when feeling stressed, sad, and angry. But it will especially help when you feel or are sick.
Based on the theories, beliefs, and experience indigenous to different cultures use the maintenance of health and in the prevention, diagnosis, improvement or treatment of physical and mental health. In society the use of herbal medicinal products and supplements has increased tremendously over the last 3 decades with not less than 80% of the people worldwide relying on them for some part of primary healthcare. For society it is shown that there is a promising potential with the efficacy of herbal products.
