Factors that Influence Disease Transmission
Not all disease can be contagous but their is something called as Communicable Disease.
Communicable Diseases are illness that can be passed on to another person in terms of physical contact from a person, an animal or surface that is infected with a virus/bacteria.
Some examples of communicable diseases are; COVID-19, Influenza, Chicken pox, Measles, etc.

Environment
- The environment plays a huge role for our survival. Additionally, in our environment, bacterias and viruses that may infect us can exist everywhere.
- Their are three things that affects our environment when it comes to diseases spread faster:

Sanitation and Sanitation Facilities

- Sanitation and sanitation facilities can affect the transmission of diseases where food and water can become contaminated because of poor sanitation.
- To have better sanitation, it's advanced that we should wash our hands properly and practice proper sneezing etiquette.

Pollution
- also plays a major role in disease transmission as evidenced by floods during the rainy season.
- Throwing your plastic garbage in the ocean makes marine animals mistake it for food and as result when we consume fish we also consume nano/microplastic.
- Polluting water system, improperly handling sewage waste, and landfills can be a breeding ground for many kinds of diseases.

Climate

Climate
- Climate takes its role as an environmental factor. In our country we only have the dry and wet seasons where various microorganisms can cause morbidity in each season.
- According to American Society for Microbiology, warmer temperatures affect the densities of airborne microbes and can accelerate their long-distance transport. This means the higher the temperature the faster bacteria grows and travel.

Socio-Economic
- Socio-Economic is how our economic activities affected and is shaped by social processes. Some examples of social and economic factors are; income, education, employment, community safety, and social supports.
- It can significantly affect how well and how long we live. These factors affect our ability to make healthy choices, afford medical care and housing, manage stress, and more.

Cultural Practices
Cultural
Practices
- Cultural practices influence disease transmission. For instance, there are some places in the Cordilleras where people drink wine after a tiring day of planting and when drinking, they use one glass to show unity.
- This practices shows their tradition but examples like this can be a sanitary problem.

- Where you might live can have an impact on your health.
- For example, you live in a farm and takes care of livestock which can be a potential source of disease.

Prostitution
- Due to economic factors where the poor tend to engage themselves into this type of activity is one avenue for the transmission of communicable diseases as well.
- Some examples of communicable disease you can get from this are; HIV, AIDS, and other Sexually Transimmited Diseases (STIs)
