Youth Community Engagement
Founded in 1972，and it was reorganized in 2015，became a big program under CYC.（Include all the member 500）The leaders of YCE are constituted by nine schools and a coordinator. YCE offer leadership experiences，community service and teach dissater preparedness for youth.
Middle School Summer Program
Middle School Summer Program
A 6 weeks long program for incoming 6,7,8,9 graders.
The summer program is taught arts, cooking, computer, life skills, students would have the opportunity to learn how to work in teams and also get a chance to have field trip.

My Supervisor - Kayi Lau
Kayi is the only coordinator of YCE and also charge the Middle School Summer Program. First time met her because I became the president of YCE Mission High School YCE Club. She had been a YCE school prsident as me, and keep working at CYC from 2014. She got a lot of experiences and she love the program so much. I love the program too, and I love to work with her.

Before I started the internship, I was really excited. Oh!! I got a job!! When started the first day internship, I felt so tired and so much work to do. But I also saw my supervisor did a lot of work more than me. That is really inspire me, I think I can do as her. And I understand all the works are not easy. Need to be patience~

Learning
What do I Learn
During the day at CYC main Office, I was helping the summer program. I prepared materials for them, went to field trip with them. I learned how to plan activities, how to communicate with kids. And I organnized files, cleaned tables. I also helped my supervisor bought new materials for YCE from Amazon. I learned how to make a checking list for new materials and organize all the new materials.

I appreciate my supervisor so much, she gave me the chance to join the internship. She always focus on her works, and she is friendly to her interns. She pointed out my mistakes, I improved. We shared fun stories with each other, had fun at working time.
