Soundtrack of My Life

By - Mya BeVelle -

You Are My Sunshine

My grandma & I would sing this song together when I was younger. When my grandma went to Australia, I sent her a voice-mail of me singing "You are my sunshine".

This Land is Your Land

This Land is Your Land

My music teacher sang us this song in music class, and it reminded me of our freedom in this country, and our rights and freedom of speech. I am thankful for my freedom of speech and my rights.

Jesus Loves Me

My grandma and I went to church when I was little and we sang the song together. I would always hum that song to myself, and memorize the song lyrics.

Puff The Magic Dragon

Puff The Magic Dragon

I sang this song on my karaoke machine at my grandma's house when I was younger. I also sang this song with my music class, and we sang it one at a time, it was a repeat after me song.

I'm proud to be an American

I am proud to be alive, and I am proud to have my family on my side, and God above & watching over me. I am thankful that my grandma survived from her house burning down and that she's healthy & safe.

The Star Spangled Banner

The Star Spangled Banner

This song reminds me of when my great-grandpa fought in the Civil War, he was a Union. I never got to meet my grandpa, but his name is on a memorial for the Civil War in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Chicago

I chose this song because my grandma & I went to Chicago in 2016 on St. Patrick's Day, and we went to Willis Tower, and The Bean. We stayed in a hotel called "Trump Towers", and we saw the Green River. They made the river Green by pouring Green dye into the river.

I can only Imagine

I can only Imagine

I like this song because I worship Jesus, I go to church mass every Christmas, and Easter, my grandma & I watched this movie, in the movie theater together.

Fairytale of New York

I chose this song because I have always wanted to visit New York for the New York Countdown on New Year's Eve. I also want to visit the Statue of Liberty on Ellis Island.

Pat-a-cake

Pat- a- cake

I chose this song because I used to play pat-a-cake with my cousin when she was younger. She laughed because she was ticklish when I played that nursery rhyme on each of her toes.

Now I lay me down to sleep

My grandma and I would sing this song together when I spent the night with her to help me go to sleep. My grandma and I always sing songs together to help me go to sleep peacefully at night, every since I was little.

Silent Night

On my grandma's karaoke machine, I love to sing Christmas songs. The Christmas song that my grandma likes to hear me sing the most, is "Silent Night."
