Lecture Halls
The faculty has two lecture room complexes, in which most of the lectures are held. Each lecture room is equipped with state of art facilities to deliver lectures and furniture that matches the student requirement. In additions two halls Drawing office 1 & 2 have the facilities for the students to attend engineering drawing sessions. In addition each department has their own lecture rooms which would facilitate departmental level lecturing catering their specific demands.

The students of the Faculty of Engineering take actively take part in sports activities. The students can take part in 21 sports that are facilitated within the university. The faculty premises has a well equipped weight training room, a multipurpose play ground for Athletics Elle, Hockey Rugger, Football, Cricket Road Race, Netball, Base ball , and facilities for Badminton, Table Tennis, Chess, Basketball, Carrom, Karate. At At university level annual sports events such as Inter-Faculty and Inter-University tournaments are held. In addition to these, a two weeks long University Sports Festival named SLUG is held at a selected University once in every 3 years. Students are also encouraged to participate in the World University Sports Festival which is held once in every two years. .

The Faculty of Engineering of University of Ruhuna was established on 1st July 1999 at Hapugala, Galle. First batch of students was admitted on 27th March 2000. This is the third conventional Faculty of Engineering in Sri Lanka after those at University of Peradeniya and University of Moratuwa.
The faculty provides hostel facilities for those students whose homes are distantly located and those who have special financial needs. Four hostel buildings are located inside the faculty premises which can collectively accommodate nearly 1000 students.
The primary aim of the Faculty is producing engineers of the highest quality who, with experience, should be able to hold responsible positions at the highest levels of the profession, possessing the wisdom to recognise their own limitations in the face of new developments and the necessary skills to benefit from continuing professional development
The Faculty of Engineering of University of Ruhuna was established on 1st July 1999 at Hapugala, Galle. First batch of students was admitted on 27th March 2000. Admission to the Faculty of Engineering, University of Ruhuna, is subject to the University Grants Commission policy on university admissions. The present annual intake to the Faculty is 530.
