The Connection to Enslavement

SLAVE Patrols

Can be compared to police officers as they were put in place to police slaves. The laws around slavery times included Slave Codes. These codes prevented enslaved African Americans from having any rights.

SLAVE Patrols

Can be compared to police officers as they were put in place to police slaves. The laws around slavery times included Slave Codes. These codes prevented enslaved African Americans from having any rights.

Police in todays time are commonly known to attack African Americans, especially men, due to racism and a lack of respect and value of their life. They see them as less than just like they did during slavery.

African Americans are more likely to be killed by polijce compared to White Americans. During enslavement there was less of a regard how African Americans were treated because they weren't see as equal to White Americans. Therefore, they were abused as if their lives did not matter.
