Job Specialization

  • The three main job specializations were being the King, Prince, and a Noble

  • The King’s job had helped the civilization by making the decisions for the civilization so it was up to him to pick what he wanted with nobody questioning him.
  • The prince was the successor to the throne and he received all of the special training that he was able to get to help him get to his future.

  • Last the nobles job was to serve the king throughout their whole life and would be given special powers

Goverment

  • The type of government my civilization had was considered a “feudal system” because something like the property law was similar to that in the middle age of Europe.

  • The vast area of the Zhou empire made it necessary to establish a bureaucracy to manage the government.

Art/Architecture

  • A bell was one piece of great work that was very famous for my civilization and it was called the “zhong”.

  • It was a suspended, clapperless type of bell, usually made in sets of eight or more, which was forming a musical scale,

Social Class

  • at the top of the pyramid in my society the most important people were the king or the emperor

  • They were the most powerful. Then came the prince and then the nobles.

  • the Zhou dynasty too followed a strict order or ranking among the social classes or the people, this order is known as the Zhou dynasty social hierarchy

Public Works

  • The Zhou Dynasty Great wall was the earliest one in Chinese history and the Great Wall of the Zhou Dynasty was not connected, but separate and diverse.

  • Another example is the Chu State wall and it was built in the 7th century b.c. There were over 700 pass cities along this wall. to protect its border against attacks from other states.

Complex Religion

  • They believed in Confucianism, Daoism, Legalism, and Mohism. They were the four religious beliefs many people believed in

  • Confucius was the leader of Confucianism and he was a Chinese philosopher. He encouraged a system of mutual duty between superiors and inferiors and believed that an individual should strive to be virtuous and respectful towards others to fit into his or his place in society. Lao-tzu was the leader of Daoism. He was a legendary figure.

Writing

  • China’s civilization used writing in books, alphabets, scripts, etc. The Chinese script was very important to all the writing systems in the East. During the development of Chinese writing it included the Guwen found in inscriptions from the late Shang dynasty

  • The difference between the chinese writing system and the latin alphabet is that the Chinese one needs more memorization when the other just requires analysis and synthesis
