Cathloic Discrimination

Discrimination

Discrimination: the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people.

Discrmination againts Catholics in the United States has been happing even before the U.S. was a country. In a very wide spread way. One example is John F. Kennady the first Catholic President. He would recieve back lash because of his Catholic faith, and would often have Political cartoons about him and the Pope.

Vandalism

Vandalism: action involving deliberate destruction of or damage to public or private property.

Vandalism

Church vandalism have became very common in the last ten years. Burning of churches, spray painting and breaking statues have been the most common form of vandalsim. "My Body my Choice." has became a common thing painted on churches. Anti-Semtic symbols have also been seen.

THE EFFECT

The Effects

The amount of damage done to Catholic Churches has made a huge impact on the community of the Church. Most people who vandalize churches never get caught and always get away without paying anything. Catholics around the United States are angry and upset that their sacred religion is under attack.

Tech

Great Catholic website;

Catholic Answers: https://www.catholic.com/

Catholics across the U.S. have taken their voices to social media, calling for justice of the damages of churches. Tech can help spread the word of what is happing to churches, but it can also be used againts Catholics. Sometimes when I scroll on social media I see such anti-Catholic posts. It's honestly disgusting how social media can be used as such a weapon.

Tech and its Impacts

What can we do as a community?

What we can do as a community

The most we can do as a community is pray, pray for the people who commit the crimes against our faith. We can't have enemies rather we pray for them.

You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.

But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you. Matthew 5:43-48 NRCV
