TKAM VS THE SCOTTSBORO TRIAL
Scottsboro Trial (The begining)
- March 25, 1931: Nine black male youths are arrested for assault and rape of two white women.
- March 30, 1931: A grand jury indicts all nine "Scottsboro boys".
SCOTTSBORO TRIAL
- April 6th-9th, 1931: 8 of the boys are convicted and secencted to death.
- January 1932: The NAACP withdraws the case and one of the victims denies being raped.

- May 27, 1932: The United States Supreme court agrees to hear the case.
- March 27, 1933: Haywood Patterson's second trial begins
1932-1937
- April 9, 1933: Haywood is found guilty and secentenced to the electric chair
- January 23, 1936: Patterson is retried again and secentenced to 75 years in prison
- July 24 1937: Rape charges are dropped against the last four defendants in the case.
TO KILL A MOCKING BIRD (The trial)
- A poor black man (Tom Robinson) is accused of rape by a white female, in a small racist town in the 1930s
- Atticus Finch (white male) is appointed to defend Tom Robinson in his trial against Mayella Ewell
TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD
- Tom Robinson is convicted of rape by an all white male jury dispite Atticus's convincing evidence
- Tom Robinson is scenctenced to life in prison for the rape of Mayella Ewell
- Tom tried to escape and is shot and killed by the guards
