In the Amazon Rainforest there is a tribe called the satare mawe tribe, and to become a man there involves experiencing the worst pain in the jungle

the satare mawe tribe believe that for a boy to become a man they must go through the bullet ant glove ritual the boys must keep the gloves on for 5 minutes of excruciating pain and stings

the bullet ant is around an inch long , can be found in south America and are known for their excruciating pain that is compared to the pain of being shot, hence the name the bullet ant

the mawe tribe submerge hudreds of the bullet ants in a natural sudative, once unconscious they are woven into the glove made from leaves. when the ants wake up, the gloves are placed on the boys hands for 5 minutes while hundreds of ants repeatedly sting them

once the gloves are removed , the boy will be in pain and shake uncontrollably, he may even experience muscle paralysis,disorientation and even hallucination, to fully complete this initiation and to be accepted as a man by the tribe, they must go through this practice 20 more times over the course of months or even years
