Here is a few tips that can help you prepare for the 8th Grade STAAR!
#1
Not all triangles have these measures but some do and they make solving triangles much more easier.

5,12,13
7,24,25
8,15,17
#2
There is some important formulas you need to remember...
Spheres...
V=4/3(πr^3)
Don't forget, make sure you cube your radius, not square it!
V=1/3(πr^2)h
Make sure to divide by three in the end!
V=(πr^2)h
V=(Bh)/3
Don't forget to divide by three!
I=prt
I=Interest
p=Principle
r=Rate
t=Time
A=Amount
Don't forget, this goes for Compound Interest too!
A=p(1+r)^t
TSA=Ph+2B
LSA=Ph
Total Surface Area
Lateral Suraface Area
V=Bh
#3
Always pay attention to the problems on the STAAR because they might be asking you something different than what you think!
Make sure you divide by 2 or 4 when you are trying to solve a semicircle or a quartercircle.
Never forget your negative signs because it could change your answer completly and then you would get the question wrong.
Always write your units. Even if the question doesn't say to do it, it's good practice.
#7
Make sure your answer on your scantron is the same answer as the one on your test because you might actually get the question right,but the scantron is the one that's graded so you could get it wrong.
Remember, if you don't know the answer to one of the problems on the STAAR, you can always skip it and go back later.
Always go back and check your answers. You never know if a question is right or wrong and you could find a mistake.
NEVER forget to divide by two when solving the area of a triangle. Or else you're probaly going to get the question wrong.
