The American flag has stood as a symbol of freedom and justice for over 225 years. During wars and in times of peace, seeing the American flag has notified foes and assurances to friends that democracy still lives.
Why the Confederate flag is not used today.
Well after the war people started using it as a hate symbol for african americans and to promote white supremacy and racist hate groups. There are also southerners who claim it as their heritage and use the flag. Due to this It’s overall now a disrespectful flag to use though its history.

What do the stars represent on the american flag? On the American flag, each represents a U.S state.
On the confederate flag, the stars represent the seven seceded states of the U.S also known as the Confederate States Of America.
What do the stripes stand for on the American flag ? The U.S flags stripes represent the original 13 Colonies of the United States of America.

Why was the U.S flag known as old glory? Well, the American flag is called Old Glory because of captain William Driver. When he was at sea, Driver appreciated the American flag and liked its symbolism for freedom. This prompted him to call it “Old Glory.”

In America, there is red, white, and blue. The red represents hardiness and valor, white represents purity and innocence, and blue represents vigilance, perseverance, and justice.
On the confederate flag, The red represents the blood of Christ. The white border stands for the protection of God. The blue X represents the Christian cross of Saint Andrew.

The confederate flag symbolizes the time when eleven southern states seceded from the United States to protect slavery, forming the Confederate States of America.
After the war, their flag became a symbol of Southern heritage at the same time as it represented slavery and white supremacy.

I had to choose a current flag from another country and figure out why that flag is symbolic. I chose Canada. The Canadian flag represents the cultural heritage of the nation and also symbolizes hope, peace, tranquility, and neutrality dominant in the country.
