Wrappers free Friday

By Josh

there are 5 trillion pieces of plastic floating in the sea. The ocean with the largest amount of plastic is the North Pacific, followed by the Indian Ocean, the North Atlantic, the South Pacific, the South Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea

Litter

Every year 1,000,000 birds are killed due to litter. Another 1,000,000 marine animals are killed every year from litter. Everyday an estimated 2,700 animals die from litter. There are 5 trillion pieces of plastic floating in the sea right now.

Litter

Subtopic

Every-time you litter 6/10 your rubbish ends up in the ocean and that bit of rubbish adds on to the 5 trillion pieces of rubbish!

If we were to have a wrapper free day once a month then we would have the chance to spare a few animals instead of having the risk of them dieing. We would also learn how to eat without having something in packages.

Free Day

Outcome

Everytime I look at the gardens in our school there is atleast 4 pieces of rubbish in every bush. If we were to have a wrapper free day every month then we would hopefully cut that number down to 1 or nothing. If that would happen, then our schools inviroment would be alot better and safer for the animals around us. Last of all if you don't want our oceans and lakes to look like that

Outcome

When plastic finally breaks down, it causes trillions of plastic particles to float around in the ocean. When fish eat plankton, they are ingesting the very small plastic particles floating around in the water.

People

Everyone in this class said they don't like seeing animals die from rubbish. But i think everyone in this class has littered at least once in their life. So think about how many times you have littered in your life.
