So because antibodies are attacking your thyroid, it results in chronic inflammation.

Hashimoto's Disease
This disease is the result of your own body attacking your thyroid gland. However the cause for that is still unknown.
In fact, some scientists have so far assumed it can be due to a virus, bacterial infection, and even a genetic link.
CAUSES
Although some symptoms are obvious, you need a medical diagnosis, such as blood work, to actually confirm whether you have Hashimoto's Disease.
sensitivity to cold
puffy eyes

muscle weakness
Although any person of any age can get Hashimoto's Disease, middle-aged people are more at risk. However, women are most likely to develop Hashimoto's Disease than men.

What was your initial reaction when you found out about her disease?
"I was upset since I myself have gone through a similar experience. I was also worried because I didn't know how she was gonna react to it."
How has it affected you and your daughter's life?
"It's negatively impacted the both of us, mainly my daughter because of all the symptoms she goes through which causes her to be in a bad mood a lot. So it's hard to deal with all that."
