The purpose of a mental health program at Bovenschen is to promote positive mental health benefits regarding diversity, personal biases, and inclusion in the workplace. This goal will be accomplished through a motivational speaker, staff involvement, and adoption of the organization Thrive Global.

Thrive Global’s mission is to end the stress and burnout epidemic by offering companies and individuals sustainable, science-based solutions to enhance well-being, performance, and purpose, and create a healthier relationship with technology. Recent science has shown that the pervasive belief that burnout is the price we must pay for success is a delusion. We know, instead, that when we prioritize our well-being, our decision-making, creativity, and productivity improve dramatically. Thrive Global is committed to accelerating the culture shift that allows people to reclaim their lives and move from merely surviving to thriving.

Chronological timeline
September: Staff will take a social/emotional workplace survey. Results from this will be turned in to Thrive to make a personalized program that will start in the winter (January).
October: Improve staff awareness/sense of community by providing them with the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) test. Staff will get their results and be asked to save them, they can choose to share with other staff or keep it to themselves.
October-December: Have the Marketing and Sunshine committee adopt responsibility of the program. They will put together all of the survey concerns and results from the MBTI test.
Thrive Global will provide live trainings, and eCourse programs for the school.
January: Have a motivational speaker specialized in mental health in the workplace come in and discuss the results from the committee. Once the motivational speaker is done a staff from the sunshine committee will introduce the new program, Thrive Global.
January-June: Staff will participate in either a live training, eCourse, or activity regarding mental health each month. At the end of each month a survey will go out asking staff how they think the activity went and if they believe it benefited them.
June: Staff will retake the survey they took at the beginning of the year. There will also be a section below asking their opinion on how they believe the program went and any changes that should happen the next year.

They will trial it for our school and hopefully expand it out to the entire district. This committee promotes happiness and teamwork throughout the building. It will first be introduced by administration to the committee and they will be given a timeline of what needs to be accomplished throughout the year. This timeline will include the different topics that need to be addressed, surveys they need to come with regarding the topics and activities they can think up of with the help of Thrive Global.

Conclusion
Providing a mental health program for the teachers at Bovenschen would be beneficial to the staff and students. Teachers have extremely strenuous jobs that require lengthy tasks with pay that does not fit the workload. Our world is changing every single day and teachers are the ones that are molding the youth of tomorrow. Mental health is important and if we focus on it we will help our students understand and focus on it as well. We need to step forward for our teachers and let them know that we care as well.
