Forecasters predict that cobalt supply won't be able to keep up with demand by 2030, or even as early as 2025.

Lithium-ion batteries are the most popular storage option today, controlling more than 90% of the global grid market.

Technology

In 2019, the automotive and industrial battery market was worth €15 billion in Europe and €75 billion worldwide.

This is forecast to rise to €35 billion and €130 billion respectively by 2030 and rising.

A whopping 2.2 million litres of water is needed to produce one ton of lithium.

Assuming the average lifespan of a lithium-ion battery to be 11 years, then the volume of batteries coming to ‘end of life’ is projected to be around 1.4 million packs by 2040.

The UK doesn't currently have the industrial capacity for this level of lithium-ion battery recycling.

To prepare for this crisis, capitalising on recycling is the best place to start.

Our 120L ride-ons do not offer enough value to justify paying the higher SSP so buyers lean towards the CRG8072
