My name is Frances (Frankie) Thompson, I am an archeologist and I live in England, and I am looking for signs of historic ancient civilizations in an excavation site near Stonehenge. I know something is there because there are a couple of artifacts and non-written sources we’ve found that we are not sure we're really from here. My colleagues and I are going head-on with this challenge and are excited to find out the truth about this!!!
We might have just uncovered a fossil of what looks like a fish! It also looks like it has some sort of tag/label that appears as if it was stabbed through it. This is a key piece of evidence to support this theory. Maybe we can use radiocarbon dating on the fish to find out how long it has been dead for. We carefully sifted through the stratigraphic layer of sand and gravel and we found a piece of wood that appears to be what the Vikings used as an axle for carts! I am guessing that this axle is about 650 years old.
I will use relative dating to try to find out the approximate age of this Viking axle. I will use Typology because we will know what the approximate date by comparing it to other objects that are the same thing. I used different axles that are older and newer. After I was finished my hypothesis is this axle was out of use c. 650 A.D. This evidence seems very reasonable.
This source is a very helpful piece of info to support the theory that the Vikings were here. This is Frances (Frankie) Thompson and this was the summary of my exciting find.
