Analysis

Detailed Analysis- Another Brick in The Wall-Pink Floyd

[Verse: Roger Waters & David Gilmour]

We don't need no education

We don't need no thought control

No dark sarcasm in the classroom

Teacher leave the kids alone

Hey, teacher! Leave the kids alone!

All in all it's just another brick in the wall

All in all you're just another brick in the wall

[Verse: Kid Chorus]

We don't need no education

We don't need no thought control

No dark sarcasm in the classroom

Teachers leave the kids alone

Hey, teacher! Leave us kids alone!

All in all you're just another brick in the wall

All in all you're just another brick in the wall

Lyrics

[Outro: Roger Waters]

Wrong! Do it again!

If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding!

How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?

You! Yes! You behind the bike sheds! Stand still, laddie!

Another Brick in the Wall is a song that Roger Waters has brought out to speak out against the cruel teachers of his childhood whom he blames for placing more bricks to his wall of mental detachment. This song not only tells the story of a once abused student but also this is a calling for his once physically and mentally abused classmates to stand up to their abusive teachers and take action on the situation. When Roger was growing up he already had a personal wall around himself and the teachers were just another brick in his wall. The music and the lyrics that were put in to make the song made it have a very emotional impact on whoever was listening to it. The music makes the song have more meaning due to the sounds of marching children. The lyrics made the music come together as a whole and making a strong and powerful story out of the whole.
