Meteors are solid objects. They are composed of rock and iron, along with ice. They are located around the Oort Cloud. The size can very. They also have three different names that they can be called. Meteors are different in their own ways compared to Asteroids and Comets because they have three different phases.
Meteroids are when a Meteor is up in space. It is in it's own area and hanging around. These can very in size. It can be small and also can be very big.
Meteors are when they are entering the Earth's Atmosphere. They are also what we know as shooting stars.
Meteorites are the pieces of Meteors that we find on the Earth's surface. With these Meteorites that we find, we are able to research them to see what they are made up how big it might have been. As well as even more information.
Asteroids are small and Irregular shaped. They are mostly made of metal. Asteroids orbit around the sun. Each Asteroid is different, some have high density and some have low density. They are known as solid objects. Asteroids are located in the main belt. Something different about them from Meteors and Comets are that Asteroids are that they are smaller than a planet, but they are larger than Meteorids.
I bet you can't beleive it, but Meteors and Asteroids have things in common. They are mostly the same except the size is different. Meteors and Asteroids are both solid objects, and they are made from metal. They both do not have a tail compared to Comets.
Comets are made of ice and dirt. Almost like a dirty snowball. They are located in the ort cloud. Comets are able to tilt in all directions, as well as move in random orbits around the sun. When Comets leave the Ort Cloud it moves in closer to the sun. If comets collide with planets it becomes distructive. When it connects or passes Earth, it can cause a meteor shower. When Comets come through to Earth they have a tail. Comets are different from Asteroids and Meteors because of their tail, it happens when a specific gas is released.
Comets and Meteors have nothing in common with each other. They are both completly different from each other.
Commets and Astroids have little to nothing in common. The one thing that they do have in common is that they are both dark in color compared to Meteors.
Although you may not have guessed. Comets, Asteroids, and Meteors all have things in common. They are all made of ancient material from formation of the Solar System. Each one orbits the sun, made of rock. Each one also has ice within them, some may have more than others but they all have ice.
