Flavian Dynasty

Vespasian

This emperor was the ninth emperor of Rome. He restored peace and stability after a period of civil war.

Domitian

He was best known for the reign of terror that members of the Senate lived under in the last years.

Flavian Dynasty

Titus

This emperor was an emperor from 79 to 81 CE. He was best known for completing the Colosseum. He was also known for his generosity during two disasters; the eruption of Mount Vesuvius and a big fire in Rome.

Julio-Claudian Dynasty

He killed Galba and tried t pacify vitellius

Nero

He killed his mother and persecuted Christians. Nero himself was more of a dilettante, and a connoisseur and patron of the arts; his coins and imperial inscriptions are among the finest ever produced in Rome.

Claudius

He established the first major expansion. He made Rome prosper by centralizing the government, taking control of the treasury, and expanding the civil service.

Antonine Dynasty

He claimed the imperial throne in response to the murder of Pertinax, but was defeated by a rival , Septimius Severus, and killed while attempting to flee from Antioch.

This emperor was one of the Five Good emperors. He restored the status of the Senate without compromising his imperial power.

This emperor was a Roman military leader Born the son of a freed slave, Pertinax became an officer in the army.

Commodus

He was the son of Marcus. Commodus abruptly abandoned the campaigns on the German frontier.

Didius Julianus

He ascended the throne after buying it from the Praetorian Guard, who had assassinated his predecessor Pertinax.

He was known for his philosophical interests. He was the son of Antoine Pius (by adoption),
