The exposition in A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle is about how the storm in the middle of the night, woke up Meg, Charles Wallace, Sandy, Dennys and their mom, Mrs Murray, who then went downstairs to get some food. The five of them were talking about their father who they haven't seen for years because he got lost when he was doing a project for his work. They then heard a knock at the door. The knock came from a strange woman who got lost in the storm and was looking for some shelter. Little did they know this woman would change their lives forvever.
I found this photograph of a mom and her kids eating and drinking at a dinner table. This represents when Meg, her brothers and her mom were all sitting at the dinner table, in the middle of the night, eating sandwiches and talking about their father who they miss greatly, just before they got the knock by the strange women.
This part in the book is important because it talks about Charles Wallace and how he is a special kid, which becomes important to know later in the book. It also talks about how their father goes missing which the whole book is basically about. Fianlly it introduces Mrs Whatsit who is very important along with her two other friends, Mrs Who and Mrs Which who show up a little later in the book.
During the rising action the main characters, Meg, Charles, and Calvin begin their journey to save Meg's father. They tesser from their backyard for the first time and visit a planet called Uriel. There, they discover The Black Thing. They then visit the Happy Medium, and later end up on Camazotz. The rising action is mostly about their space travels, and all the times they tesser.
I have picked two paintings that represent these travels.
This image really reminds me of when the kids are tessering. In Starry Night, Van Gogh painted multiple swirls across the night sky. In the book, they are wrinkiling time, or bending it, in a way. The spirlas in the painting could easily be interpreted as the protagonists of the book tessering through time and space. The painting also matches the overall mood of the book: it's dark, but filled with wonder and imagination.
This painting is reminiscent of the groups visit to the planet Uriel. In A Wrinkle in Time the planet is described as a beautiful place filled with different types of animals and plants. Meg, Charles, and Calvin ride on Mrs. Whatsit's back after she transforms and they see the lush landscape of the planet. The mountains and the pink fog rising into the sky remind me of how I imagined that part of the book.
The climax in A Wrinkle in Time is about Meg trying to save her father and escaping IT. In the climax, Meg and Calvin help Mr. Murry escape from the prison he was being held captive in. When faced with IT, they fought to be different and have mind of there own. Although Charles got left behind since he was controlled by IT, the rest of the group fleed Camazotz.
I think A World Without Melody is a song that relates to the climax of the book because it's about how individuallity is important. In A Wrinkle in Time, Meg, Mr. Murry, and Calvin escape it by staying off it's beat instead of giving it and letting their minds be controlled. Thanks to their strong desire to be different, I think this song matches perfectly with the theme of the climax of the story.

I think that the first falling action is when Meg's father tessers Meg and Calvin our of Camazots and on to another planet which was the home of the beast. These beast then help aid Meg back to her normal health so she can continue on her mission. To show this in a form of media I decided to show you a photo of how this creature should like that.
I choose this photo because this is very similar to how I imagined the beast to look like. In the book they talk about it being a faceless creature, with tenticale like arms, with very soft fur. All three of those attribiutes are on this photo.

The Falling Action is about Meg taking responsibility to go save her little brother Charles Wallace from the IT, but this time they had a slight advantage. They knew that the IT didn't have love. Their plan was to use that agianst IT because that was it's weakness. To represent this in a form of media I decided to do a poem.

The poem I choose was "Love Vs. Evil", by .Pd. is here. I choose this poem because it talked about how love was the twin of evil and how evil may seem to be winning but really love is always alive. This also reletes to the book. In the book love was their shield from evil.

The resolution of the book is when Meg saves Charles from IT and the children return home with their father. This quote relates to the resolution of the book because the children never lost hope and ended up escaping IT as a result of their strong hope ambition to leave Camazotz.
