How it all started

  • In 1769 he got captured by four slave catchers
  • he woke up in the prison sell, blindfolded and chained
  • he and other slaves were put on a slave ship the lord ligonier
  • the trip took 4 mounth
  • he survived the trip to Maryland

  • There was barely room to move.
  • The slaves were tightly packed and the hygiene level was terrible.
  • Diseases such as scurvy and smallpox were very common and were spread amongst the slaves very easily due to their tight packing.
  • A lot of slaves tried to commit suicide as the conditions were way to bad.

  • Kunta was brought back to John waller House and Fiddeler was put in charge to teach him English and how to work on Master wallers land.
  • When Kunta was working in the field one day he found and axe head and kept it so he could use it to break free.
  • Fiddeler helped him to escape by giving him a jacket and clothes.
  • Kunta then managed to run away at night
  • Kunta got caught and punished for attempting to escape
  • Kunta had to change his name to toby
  • Kunta married bell and they had a baby girl whom they named kizzy
  • he never accepted the white man life or culture
  • he died as a happy slave
