During birth --
during the birth of a koala does not resemble an adult since it is born blind with undeveloped features such as eyes and ears. A baby koala measures under one inch in length. just after birth the joey makes its way to the mother's pouch and attaches itself inside, until its features have fully grown.

the newborn baby koala must find its way into the mothers pouch by smelling and feeling becuase its eyes and ears have not fully formed. once the baby joey has found its way into the mothers pouch it attachersits self to one out of two abdomen which produce milk.

when the baby koala is around 5-6 months it will pop its head out and feeds on a special kind of food called 'pap' which is a soft and runny part of the mothers droppings.

When the Joey is seven months old it leaves its mothers pouch for longer and longer periods of time. The Joey usually starts to ride on the mothers back and starts to get use to gum leaves in its diet but will still return to its mothers pouch for milk, until it is to big to fit inside.

Once the Joey has turn three or four it is a fully grown koala, and is usually when the koala start to breed and get active.

Around the age three or four, the adult koala starts to breed and gets very active between August to March. Females usually have one joey a year but some female koalas have one ever two or three years.

In a good habitat in the wild the male Koalas can live up to 5 years and the female Koala a few years longer, in the suburban areas the Koala can live up to a couple of weeks, months or years with the danger of Dogs and/or Cats there life is usually shorter.
