The CBA1

  • The CBA1 (Classroom Based Assessment 1), is one of two Classroom Based Assessments (CBA2) but we will talk about CBA2 at another time. For now our main focus is CBA1.

  • Classroom Based Assessment 1 is called Oral Communication, here you are all expected to stand in front of all your peers and present a three minute Oral Communication task.

  • The three minute CBA can be done any topic you want but it must follow one of these four formats, Presentation, Interview, Roleplay and a Reaction to Stimulus, we will talk about each of these later.

  • Also you may work by yourselves or with other students.

A Presentation can be used to talk about anything for CBA1. It can range from a sport you like, to your dream car or maybe a scene from a film or game that you thought was very intresting.

The sky is the limit but you must rememeber that this Presentation must last at least three minutes and there must be evidence of research and effort put into the Presentation

For Roleplay you and or your group can act out a select scenario. This either can be from the creation of the students or the you can implement certain scenes from films, television shows, books or even plays.

This format allows you and or your group to take on the role of a person of fame and allow your fellow students (audience) who work in the group with the student in question or the audience to ask them questions that will test the interviewees knowledge of the person they are imitating.
