Evacuees were a very significant part of World War 2. In World War 2 it was mostly Children who were evacuated- 2 million children.
What was the impact on children and adults?
Children in 1900's had to be evacuated to host families for their own safety. They had to be taken away from their families for a long time ( some people stay with their host families for 6 months! )
Some adults had to stay in London while the bombing was happening! However some pregnant women could go with their children.
