We have our chapter meetings every Tuesday at 7 pm!
This is the time where we get to discuss things such as upcoming events, community, DEI, service, and personal wellness & growth!
Our Chapter uses a point system to help us keep track of our campus involvement!
Each member is encouraged to earn 15 involvement points total! 5 of these points are earned by participating in Phi Mu related events, 5 of these points are earned by participating in Phi Mu sisterhood events, and the last 5 points are earned through participating in other chapter events on campus!
Our chapter members can receive points by:
- Attending Philanthropy events
- Maintaining certain GPA levels
-Playing an intermural sport
-Being active on campus
- Getting dinner with a sister!
Phi Mu Campus Involvement
All incoming freshmen are required to have an overall GPA of a 3.0
Current college students and active members are required to have an overall GPA of a 2.75
Phi Mu Executive Committee Members are required to have a GPA of a 2.85
Phi Mu is proud to always offer academic support to those who need it through our academic buddy program!
The academic buddy program pairs active members with an academic buddy to help them develop better study habits and to have a friendly face to come with questions and concerns!
Phi Mu Kappa Chapter awards $20,000 in scholarships each year to help with financial obligations.
Phi Mu Foundation also awards scholarships that are available for all active Phi Mu members to apply for.
The Phi Mu Foundation awards $173,500 in scholarships a year !
We have itemized bills sent out three times per semester using an online system called Billhighway.
Fall semester is billed in September, October, and November
Spring semester is billed February, March, and April.
These scheduled fees are billed in equal installments over three months in the fall and spring. The full amounts are listed below:
New Member 1st Semester
Initiation Fee : $153 (phis only)
Provisional New Member Fee : $49.50 (phis only)
National Obligation Fee : $101 (phis only)
Fall total for Phis : $1,236
Initiated Member 2nd semester
Spring total for initiated members : $668
OTHER THINGS THAT CAN BE ON BILLS:

Fines range from event, but we do our best to come up with alternate actions such as more involement in different events!
Our chapter is also unique because girls living in the house are the only members who must purchase a meal plan!
Date Parties: Silent disco, Flamingo flock, Rhyme without reason...and everyone's favorite MAD PLAID!!!!!
Mixers: Events that are held with other chapters in the Panhellenic community! We do themes like diamonds & denim, wild west, and so much more!
Formals: Fall and Spring Formal... both the BEST nights of the semester!
Sisterhood Retreat: Once per semester, the entire chapter is involved!
Sisterhood Events: Fun, chapter-wide events that often benefit our philanthropy, Children Miracle Network Hospitals and/or East Tennessee Children Hospital.
Things such as: Galentines party, tote bag painting, and big little reveal are some amazing sisterhood events!
Alumnae Events : Founder's day, Bid day, and Initiation
Parents' Night: Held in the fall where we get to show our parents and family how awesome our sisterhood is!
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
This helps our chapter members feel more welcomed & heard.
The Multicultural Greek Council: Six culturally rooted sororities and fraternities. National Pan-Hellenic Council: Seven historically black sororities and fraternities.
Wellness days, cultural immersion, and
networking, it can help build bridges to learn where we fit in!
BID DAY 2022
The Phi Program is an 8-week introductory program that allows new members to become accustomed to Phi Mu before initiation.
In the first semester, new members also known as Phis, attend weekly meetings following chapter on Tuesdays!
Phi Mu enforces a NO HAZING POLICY, which new members will learn about during this program.

Phi Retreat: A fun event that helps our sweet Phis to get to know their pledge class! This year we are going to the house for a movie, cookie decorating, paintint canvases and more!Phi retreat also includes our new member educator and members of KROP (a group of active members that help organize and supervise the new member program)
Pink Week: A week-long celebration where Phis receive secret gifts, favorite foods, and t-shirts from their future bigs!!
Big/ Little Reveal: The last night of Pink Week when Phis find out who their Big is!
A ritual ceremoney at the conclusion of the 8-week Phi Program.
This is a sacred time to learn the ritual history and the deeper meanings of the fraternity and our own chapter.
New members officially become members of Phi Mu!!!
