The ISTE standard I chose for my students is the digital citizen standard. The digital citizen standard states that,"Students recognize the rights, responsibilities and opportunities of living, learning and working in an interconnected digital world, and they act and model in ways that are safe, legal and ethical"(ISTE.org)

This standard is so important because before using technology in the classroom, students need to know how to use the technology appropriately. Being a good digital citizen is important because it teaches students how to be respectful and resposible while using technology. Also, there are some dangers to technology, so knowing how to be responsible with it helps ensure the safety of the students and the classroom.

My goal for technology integration is to make learning easier and more fun for students. The way I will support the digital citizen standard in my classroom is to go over all the rules and expectations I have that the students need to follow before having access to any technology in my classroom. My ultimate goal for supporting this standard is to keep my classroom and my students safe while also having them learn how to be responsible with new reasources.
