long

The green anaconda is the longest snake in the world. The largest anaconda ever measured was almost 28 feet long with a girth of 44 inches. Scientists estimate that the anaconda must have weighed over 500 lbs. The other snake that competes with the anaconda is the Asiatic Recticulated Python.

habitat

Anacondas live in swamps, marshes, slow moving streams, and the tropical rain forests of Amazon and Orinaco. It is easy for anacondas to catch prey because their skin blends with their surroundings.
