In creating a positive classroom

culture, the teacher sets up

procedures that foster peer

collaboration (I) as well as implementing new strategies (III, V), incorporating elements of the whole child through engaging family

and community (VI), and providing modifications that advocate for individual student success (VII).

Utilization of Data to Guide Instruction

This Teacher Competency addresses Domains IV and V.

Through utilizing data, the teacher prioritizes using assessments to collect and interpret data (V) to guide and improve instruction (IV).

Purposeful Planning: Differentiation

Purposeful Planning: Differentiation

This Teacher Competency addresses Domain IV.

Through purposefully planning and allowing for responsive teaching and feedback, the teacher leader facilitates improvements in instruction and student learning.

Continued Education: Seeking Professional Development

Continued Education: Seeking Professional Development

This Teacher Competency addresses Domains III and IV.

In seeking professional development and continued education via workshops, conferences, co-teaching, observation, etc., the teacher leader is promoting professional learning (III). Through implementing newly gained strategies from continued education, the teacher leader is facilitating improvements in instruction (IV).

Collaborative Team Work

This Teacher Competency addresses Domains I and VII.

As a team player, the Teacher Leader fosters a collaborative culture (I) as well as advocates for the best interests of all students and peers (VII).

The Teacher Leader provides

outreach and collaboration with

families and community when engaging them in student learning via newsletters, social media involvement, etc. This can lead to

additional improvements in instruction (Domain IV) by being aware of student cultural aspects that impact their learning experience.
