1st class explored the classroom to find materials that magnets would and would not stick to.
They also investigated the effect of magnets on iron filings.
They learned about the poles of magnets and the repel factor and how it can push and pull other magnets.
5th and 6th class examine the effects of different liquids on eggs

Clean Ireland recycling updated the whole school on the importance of careful recycling. The children played recycling challenge games and were awarded certificates on completion.
Gerry Ryan the local beekeeper called to the school with his bees. He spoke to the junior and senior classes. We even got dressed up in the bee keeping suits.

ESB Science Blast
This year 2nd 3rd and 4th classes, 33 children, entry to ESB Science Blast has been accepted and they will present ' Is one sheet Plenty?' in Limerick on 23rd May. The classes created an i movie and used investigations to determine the best material for absorbency and clean up of the imaginary crime scene.
