William Wallace Lincoln Dies

William Wallace (or Willie) was Lincolns third son with his wife Mary Todd Lincoln.

Willie was named after Mary's brother-in-law.

He sadly died from typhoid fever at the White House on February 20, 1862.

Slavery sadly was legal in the District of Columbia until April 16, 1862.
