  • Obesity is defined as "Abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that presents a risk to health" (WHO, 2018).

  • The World Health Organization (WHO) highlights that worldwide, in 2016, 41 million children under the age of 5 were overweight or obese.

  • Obesity is likely to continue into adulthood, resulting in challenges with health and social care.
