Difference

Cost and Time Effective

When costs increase, project sponsors sometimes find themselves in a kind of hostage situation. A waterfall approach does not call for any complete product functionality until the end of a project. Because traditional approaches to development are all-or-nothing proposals, if costs increase and stakeholders don't pay more for the product, they will not get any finished requirements. The incomplete product becomes a kidnapped hostage; pay more, or get nothing.

What Are the Real Challenges in Scaling Agile?

Real challenges

A framework helps you avoid reinventing the wheel with regard to the structure, processes and the principles to follow for you to become agile.

But the real challenges in an agile transition are at a completely different level.

They have to do with the mindset and the culture you need to become truly agile: letting go off (much of your) control and trusting that everyone wants to perform at their best.

That means:

decentralizing decisions.

creating transparency and alignment around strategic goals and how you organize work.

finding a balance between autonomous teams and cross-team dependencies.

changing virtually everything in the way you organize work.

delivering sooner and perfecting products “in the wild.”

collaborating throughout your business and with your customers.

updating, replacing, and integrating your information systems to enable transparent information flow throughout your company.

That probably sounds daunting and I’m not going to diminish the task at hand.

I will say, however, that it’s entirely possible!

How Companies Choose Frameworks ......

  • Your organization’s Agile maturity
  • Your organization’s goals for Agile implementation
