Water Bucket Filling up the Slide
The Water Bucket
Going Down the Slide
Our goal for this tour is for everyone on the tour to fully understand the digestive tract and how the food that we eat travels through our bodies. We also hope that on this tour you learn about how all of the parts of the digestive system work together in order to complete the digestion process.
On this tour we are going to a water park! We are going to a water park today because in many ways a water park can represent the astonishing cycle that is the Digestive Cycle.
Our First Stop, the Water Bucket
Our First Stop, the Water Bucket
This is our first stop on this tour of the digestive system! It is the Water Bucket, the waterbucket resembles the mouth. The Water Bucket fills up with water just like the mouth gets filled with food and drinks.

Our Next Sight to Behold

Our next sight is after the water bucket is completely filled and it finally tips. This is much like the Pharynx of the Digestive System. The Waterbucket tips over to get water to the people below it, much like the pharynx pushes food and drinks down into the esophogus.
Now we're going to go down the slide, this is alot like how the esophagus takes the food from the pharynx into the stomach. The water slide carries a human and water down, much like the Esophagus brings food and or drinks down. As we travel down the slide we are making our way towards the wave pool. This represents going down the esophagus into the stomach.
From the slide we now enter the wave pool. The wave pool represents the stomach because the stomach churns with peristaltic waves to move the food down into the small intestine, like the wave pool churns with waves that move people.
The pool filtering system works much like the pancreas of the digestives system. The pool filter keeps all of the water sanitary and keeps the correct amount of chlorine in the water. Much like the pancreas converts food into Insulin and helps fill the body with nutrients.
Now for a little lazy break, we are going to coast down the lazy river. The lazy river represents the small intestines, they both have so much in common. As the lazy river is the longest body of water in the park, much like the small intestine which has the length of about 30 feet long. The small intestines have food and drink particles flowing through it as it picks up the nutrients from them.
Sadly, it is almost time to go so we have to go dry off. Drying off is getting ready to leave the waterpark. Drying off is like the large intestine because the large intestine is getting all of the excess waste ready to exit the body.
The rectum and packing your things are much alike. The rectum stores and packs all
Packing your things and the Rectum are much alike. The Rectum holds and packs all the left overs from the digestive process. Jsut like you pack your leftovers from your waterpark adventure.
The anus and leaving are very similar. The anus is the exit for all the leftover waste from the digestive process as leaving the waterpark is the exit.
