This book is about a kid named Greg Heffley and how his mother doesn't want him to stay indoors all day and play video games so she wants him to go outside in the snow.
The Lower Surrey street kids are Greg's enemies because he lives on a hill and they live on the flat ground. He gets into a snowball fight with the lower Surrey street kids for the flat ground.

The setting of the story takes place at the school, at home, and outside in a snow fort.
