Introduction

Patients suffer from serious health issues due to a lack of proper health monitoring.

In the past, a huge and fixed monitoring device was used (only in the hospitals) to know the health status of a patient when on a bed.

This project will make an iot-based Health Monitoring System that records the patient heart beat rate and body temperature and also sends an email/SMS alert whenever those readings go beyond critical values.

Pulse rate and body temperature readings are recorded over ThingSpeak so that patient health can be monitored from anywhere in the world over the internet.

A panic will also be attached so that the patient can press it on emergency to send email/SMS to their relatives. On the cloud server, each patient is defined with a unique address

Introduction

Problem statement

Older people are often left at home because their children are working and stay far away. So no one knows the real-time situation for older people. Most people as children have difficulty monitoring the older people continuously. It commonly is available via a local connection such as Bluetooth, limited area only. The monitoring device is not friendly to use due to wired connection so this situation some problems come to them.

Problem Statement

Objectives

Objectives

1.The goal of the project is to develop a health monitoring system, where human body temperature and heartbeat rate can be monitored.

2. To reduce health care costs.

3.Ease children to monitor their older people everywhere and anytime via the internet.

Scope

Scope of project / Limitation

1.This device was constructed to check the body temperature and heartbeat rate only.

2.The data will transmit through the internet that had been stored in the cloud by using the IoT Thing Speak monitor widget as a tool.

3. LM35 is a temperature sensor and a pulse sensor has been choosen for this project and the data will publish on the Thing Speak platform.

Methodology

Expected

Expected Result

The expected result of this project is a health monitoring system implement effectively. This project is expected to spread wide awareness on how technology can be used in. Next, need to explore and do more research on this project to ensure the project's stability, and functionality. The coding of the project can be executed without an error by applying software, for the Arduino IDE platform. To construct a good coding that can get the data efficiently.
