Me as the Good Samaritan

Alannah Gray

How Have I been a Good Samaritan?

Adapting to Change

How Have I been a good Samaritan?

An effect that the Coronavirus pandemic has brought is having to stay in doors and doing distance learning. It was an unexpected and different change but the only way to make it easier for everyone was to be flexible and adapt to the change.

I feel I have been a Good Samaritan by adapting to the change to make it easier for others, being respectful towards others and providing extra care for people in need, making sure that family and friends are doing alright in this difficult time and being grateful for what we have.

Adapting To Change

  • Understanding there is no social interaction with friends and family who don't live in the same household
  • Activities have been postponed i.e co-curricular and out-of-school activities.
  • Spending more time at home but lots of bike riding, walking the dogs, home netball training and bonding with family.

Touching Base

Touching Base (and not touching

my face)

  • Keeping in contact with family and friends using social media, FaceTime, Snapchat, messenger, text and phone calls every few days
  • Using Zoom for school and other activities.
  • Socially distancing and staying 1.5 meters away.

Being respectful, responsible and grateful

  • Respecting essential workers, teachers, supermarket staff and my parents
  • Taking responsibility by washing my hands more than usual, socially distancing, covering my mouth when coughing or sneezing and doing my part to help others
  • We are all going through this but some people have it much harder and we should be grateful for where we live and what we have.
