why

In Act 1, there is a lot of temptaion that is going on. For example, Lady Macbeth continuosly tempts Macbeth, ultimately lead to Macbeth killing King Duncan. Lady Macbeth has a negative influence on Macbeth. In the song "28 Reasons", it talks about how the person torments their significant other, they still "want" each other. The overall mood of the song has a tempting, evil, dark vibe to it as well.

The witches cast a spell around a cauldron and Hecate congratulates them. Macbeth visits the witches and they show him three apparitions. Firstly, an armed head appears saying that Macbeth should ‘beware Macduff’. Secondly, a bloody child appears, saying ‘none of woman born shall harm Macbeth’. Thirdly, a crowned child holding a tree appears, saying that he will never be defeated ‘until Great Birnam Wood to high Dunsinane hill shall come against him’. Macbeth is reassured, but asks if Banquo’s descendants will ever reign. The witches advise against his question, but he demands that they answer. An apparition of eight kings appears following Banquo’s ghost. Macbeth is terrified and angry, but the witches disappear. Lennox arrives with word that Macduff has fled to England. Privately, Macbeth vows to kill all of Macduff’s family including ’his wife, his babes, and all unfortunate souls that trace him in his line’.

summary

Macbeth kills Young Siward, the son of one of the English commanders. Macduff searches frantically for Macbeth, vowing that he and he alone should kill the king. Finally, Siward tells Malcolm that they’ve overtaken Dunsinane castle, and victory is near. It’s time for the big face off. Macduff tracks down Macbeth, and the two immediately begin to fight—both physically and verbally. At first, Macbeth isn’t too keen on the idea of killing Macduff. After all, he did just have his family murdered. But Macduff won’t let him get off that easily. Still, Macbeth tells him that there’s no point in Macduff trying to kill him, because Macbeth can’t be harmed by anyone born of a woman. Not so fast, says Macduff. It turns out he was taken from his mother’s womb prematurely, and so he technically isn’t of woman born. Macduff demands surrender, and Macbeth refuses. The two fight until Macduff kills Macbeth, chops off his head, and presents it to a triumphant Malcolm. Everyone hails Malcolm, the new king of Scotland, who vows to restore justice to the kingdom.
