- The tunnel becomes narrowed or when tissues (SYNOVIUM) surrounding the flexor tendons swell
- Synovium swells, it takes up space and crowds the nerve

- On the palm side of the wrist, a strong transverse carpal ligament and the carpal bone
- There are flexor tendons and median nerves passing through the tube.
- When the pressure in the tube increases slightly, the median nerve is compressed, resulting in a corresponding clinical symptom called carpal tunnel syndrome.

- Pain or tingling that may travel up the forearm toward the shoulder.
- Weakness and clumsiness in the hand which make you to have difficulty to perform fine movements
- Dropping things due to weakness, numbness, or a loss of proprioception.

- Numbness, tingling, or burning-like pain in the three and a half fingers of the affected side of the hand
- Pain often occurs at night or early in the morning, with weak thumbs and awkward movements.
- The skin pain in the median nerve innervation area of the hand weakens or disappears, and the abduction strength of the thumb weakens.
- Using a percussion hammer to strike the middle of the flexion of the wrist can cause radiation pain in the median nerve distribution area.
- If the patient is instructed to have his hands facing away, the hands will naturally hang down for one minute, and the affected thumb, forefinger, and middle finger may experience radioactive pain.
- Wrist radiography can exclude other bone and joint diseases.
